Welcome to Grace Baptist Church!

Grace Baptist Church is a family of believers passionate about Jesus Christ and the unchanging truth of God’s Word.  There are people here from all walks of life, backgrounds, and nationalities– dedicated to “making, maturing, and multiplying devoted followers of Jesus Christ.”  Whether you are a person investigating Christianity, a new believer looking for a healthy place to grow, or a veteran Christian looking for a quality church with biblical preaching, vibrant fellowship, God-centered worship, and passionate discipleship– you are welcome here!

What happens on Sunday mornings?

If you are a first-time guest, please stop by our welcome table to receive one of our “Guest Packets” that will tell you more about our pastor, church family, discipleship opportunities, and weekly schedule.

Our regular Sunday morning service begins at 10:30am, and lasts for roughly 60-75 minutes. In a typical worship service, you’ll be challenged and encouraged by music— both classic hymns and modern songs— along with prayer, Scripture readings, and public preaching. We also offer a fully-staffed nursery for infants through age 4.  We also have a separate nursery for infants and nursing mothers.

We typically celebrate the Lord’s Supper on the first Sunday of each month during Morning Worship.  On the second and third Sundays of each month, our Praise Band leads the congregation in worship.  We have a “blended” style of worship– classic hymns and modern songs– always marked by God-centeredness and sound doctrine.

What should I do with my kids?

During our pastor’s message, we offer a Children’s Church program for children ages 4-6.   During this time, your youngster will receive an age-appropriate lesson and some fun kid-friendly activities while you focus on the morning message.  However, you are welcome to have your children stay with you in the worship service.  Each Sunday we provide a kid-friendly “Children’s Bulletin” so children can color– draw– and interact with Bible truth on their level.

All of our children’s workers have undergone background checks according to Pennsylvania state laws.

What should I wear?

We do not have a dress code.  We’d love for you to wear whatever is modest and comfortable. You’ll discover that some people are dressed casually (polo shirts and jeans) while others dressed up a little (shirts/ties– or slacks/dresses/skirts).  Just come as you are– we’re glad you’re here.

Is the church handicapped-accessible?

We have four handicapped parking spots available within just a few feet of our two main entrances.  They are marked with handicapped signage for easy location.  On our East Street entrance we have a powered stair-lift than can help those who need assistance getting up the five steps to our main floor.  In our main auditorium we have special spots reserved for those who come in a wheelchair.

Is there something else we missed?

If you still have questions, don’t hesitate to contact our church office at 570.455.7461.  We’ll be glad to talk to you and seek to answer any other questions you might have before your arrival on Sunday morning.  Come and visit us soon!
