In 2006, our hometown city of Hazleton, Pennsylvania was ‘Ground Zero’ in the national immigration debate.  Then-mayor Lou Barletta, in cooperation with the city council, passed a controversial ordinance that was designed to stop the flow of illegal immigrants into the city.  After a lengthy court battle that nearly reached the Supreme Court, the law was struck down in a federal court.  Even though 12 years have passed, immigration is still one of the hottest debates in our national discussion.  So what should the Christian think about this topic?  What timeless, biblical principles intersect with this much-debated issue?  What are some of the non-negotiable biblical values that God wants Christians to affirm as we approach immigration?  ~What Would Jesus Say?
